 | Qty=2Size=750 ml"The 1993 Valhalla Pinot Noir, which was largely sold to the winery's mailing list clients, is loaded with black fruit. It offers up a sweet, vanilla, smoky, oaky, black-raspberry-scented nose, generous, medium to full-bodied, velvety-textured flavors, and plenty of intensity and length. It should be drunk over the next 3-4 years. The word is finally getting out about the exquisite Cabernet Sauvignons produced by the father and son team of Gus and Todd Anderson from their vineyard tucked in the Conn Valley hills behind the Meadowood Country Club and Resort. Not as well known are the tiny quantities of sumptuous Pinot Noir that emerge from their Valhalla Vineyard. This wine is atypical for a Napa Pinot Noir as it reveals a black-cherry, raspberry, blackberry fruitiness that has more in common with an Oregon Pinot Noir than the cherry/strawberry/herbal notes that tend to be the hallmarks of California Pinots." - Robert Parker, robertparker.com (Jun 29, 1995) |
