I tasted a small sample of an incredible Savagnin from 1998 that was still in barrel and will be put in bottle in 2015. The wine has been extremely concentrated by years and years in barrel, and even the alcohol must have been increased. This is a heady Savagnin that is redolent of nuts, spices and ginger. It is super concentrated, powerful and pungent, with lots of acidity and alcohol too. This is a very tasty, extremely powerful wine. There is one barrique of this wine. The aging of this wine has been different, as it was aged in a dry cellar. Emmanuel Huillon was talking about a digestive wine, and I agree. It has the volume and power of a Vin Jaune.
