 | | Qty=6Size=750 ml, RP[96]"The 2006 Brut Cuvée de Chardonnay from Saint-Chamant will delight lovers of old-school Champagne—this reviewer included—with its complex bouquet of honeycomb, ripe lemons, hazelnuts, brioche, dried white flowers and subtle hints of cognac. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, intense and racy, with excellent concentration and a lovely line of tangy acidity that defies the stereotype of the vintage, complementing this blanc de blancs' rich bouquet and complex flavors to terrific effect. Though I'm guessing this was recently disgorged, as Coquillette leaves his wines sur lattes until they are about to be shipped, the mousse is already very refined.
