A modest success for the vintage, it is a friendly, easy-to-drink effort that should be consumed over the next 7-8 years. My wine group recently did a vertical of all the Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, which proved several things. First, this is a surprisingly erratic producer. While some terrific efforts are produced, other wines have matured and faded quickly. Vintages since the mid-nineties have not been as intensely flavored, but they are still very good.
