 | Qty=6Size=750 ml"Tasted at the property, this bottle recorded at the château, the 1988 Figeac has an attractive bouquet that appears fully mature, quite deep in color. The nose is actually more attractive than the palate with dark berries, cola, briary and a touch of iron rust. The palate is weaker with vestiges of black fruit, quite aggressive tannins, quite sharp and grainy with a short, herbaceous, tobacco-tinged finish. Frédéric Faye remarked that there was a touch of TCA and he is probably correct, but still, this is a rather hard Figeac that really ought to be better. Drink up. Tasted June 2016." - Neal Martin, robertparker.com (Aug 30, 2016) |
