The 2011 Corton Clos du Roi has an intense bouquet that is well defined with more fruit intensity than Vougeraie’s own Clos du Roi, displaying lifted black cherry, wild strawberry and chlorophyll scents. The palate is smooth and harmonious on the entry, although the oak here is quite conspicuous and tends to erase not just the hard edges, but some of the personality on the austere finish.
